Amey Wins Gold Health And Safety Awards

Amey, a leading provider of public services, has won four national awards for all areas of its operations from one of the UK’s most respected health and safety charities.

The company was awarded gold for its various business functions from highways maintenance through to facilities management. Amey’s Built Environment, Inter-Urban, Local Government and Consulting divisions each received the gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2012.

The Gold Award recognises excellent occupational health and safety cultures, a rigorous approach to occupational health, high levels of compliance with control measures and above average safety performance. The Built Environment sector celebrates its ninth consecutive Gold Award win.

Keith Sexton, Group HSEA Director, said: “We are delighted to have achieved the Gold Award across all of our main business sectors.”

David Rawlins, awards manager at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), a safety charity with a 95-year history, said: “The RoSPA Awards programme provides well-deserved recognition for the winners and spurs on other organisations to raise their standards of accident and ill health prevention.
