New mobile data capability will help Amey support clients deliver better transport solutions
Amey, with its shareholders One Equity Partners (OEP) and Buckthorn Partners, has invested in a new mobile network data capability to help clients better understand travel patterns, leading to more user focused and sustainable transport solutions.
The leading infrastructure services and engineering company has secured the assets and employees of the British technology company Citi Logik. This new capability will enable Amey to harness insights on travel patterns from anonymous mobile phone data, and support transport planners make better informed, evidence-based decisions.
The new team will form part of Amey Consulting’s world-leading Advisory & Analytics offering, which already pioneers the use of data science for major infrastructure clients including Network Rail, National Highways and Transport for Wales.
Andy Milner, who rejoined Amey as Chief Executive at the start of the year, following Amey’s acquisition by OEP and Buckthorn, has committed to growing Amey’s capability to develop digitally supported infrastructure and operational solutions informed by data.
Alex Gilbert, Managing Director of Amey Consulting, said: “We are delighted to welcome the people and skills of Citi Logik to Amey Consulting, in what is our first acquisition under the ownership of OEP and Buckthorn. We could see a clear alignment between the skills we have in our Amey Consulting business and those of the team at Citi Logik. This presents a really exciting opportunity to develop new products and services, using mobile network data alongside our proprietary technology. This will allow us to provide our clients, the owners of critical national infrastructure, with ground-breaking analytics services, that will help create better and safer transport networks for the public and which, in turn, will support economic growth.”
Founded in 2012, Citi Logik worked on over 100 transport and urban planning projects in the UK and internationally, spanning the Intelligent Mobile, Smarter Cities, Retail & Advertising and Built Environment sectors. They worked with clients such as Greater London Authority, Department for the Economy (NI), Govia Thameslink and a host of local authorities.
The new capability will support Amey Consulting’s existing Transport Planning, Intelligent Mobility and Place teams.
