Amey builds on its technical compliance and energy management capability

Amey’s Secure Infrastructure business, which provides critical facilities services to the Public Sector and UK Defence, is strengthening its technical compliance and energy management capability to support its customers' growing needs.

Amey Chief Engineer, Dave O’Shaughnessy, will head up the newly created Technical Assurance Team and he will be joined by Lewis Welch who takes up the role of Head of Energy.

In line with its new business strategy, Amey is transforming its approach to compliance, ensuring it delivers a market-leading data-driven service that is responsive to the changing requirements in legislation and industry standards. By investing in additional digital solutions and resource, Amey will be able to assure its customers that their assets are compliant and enable a more collaborative approach to risk management.

Through a dedicated energy management function, Amey will also support its customers by helping them meet Net Zero carbon targets, providing increased value through better data on energy usage and helping to create more sustainable utilities for end users.

Craig McGilvray, Managing Director for Amey Secure Infrastructure, said: “Technical compliance and energy management is a key component of our Secure Infrastructure strategy for 2021 and beyond.  The creation of this wider capability reflects the heightened focus our customers have in these areas. Over recent years we have revised our compliance approach to focus on assurance, technical services and data, in line with legislative and industry standards. Over the next decade, carbon reduction and sustainable business practices will be critical in tackling climate change. Dave and Lewis strengthen our existing expertise and ensure we can support our clients to help tackle climate change together.”

Amey has extensive experience delivering facilities and estate management across critical infrastructure and public services. It is responsible for looking after thousands of assets on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice and over 200 schools across the UK.
