Multiple award success for Amey

Leading public service provider Amey today announced an astonishing tenth award win in only four weeks, the latest award being won by its Highways and Consulting teams at the CIHT Awards last week.

Amey has so far scooped 10 industry awards since May at ceremonies up and down the UK, championing the people, initiatives and collaborative approaches behind some of Amey's highest performing and most innovative public service and infrastructure projects.

At the prestigious 2019 CIHT Awards held in London on Thursday 13th June, Amey Consulting and Highways walked away with three award wins in the following categories:

• CIHT Overall Project of the Year Award - Belfast Bus Rapid Transit project
• Team of the Year Award - The East Midlands Asset Delivery Team (Area 7)
• Major Projects Award - Belfast Bus Rapid Transit project

The teams were also highly commended in the categories:

• Public Transport Award - Belfast Bus Rapid Transit project
• Collaboration Award - SMART Motorways project for the Amey Arup joint venture

At the Scottish Transport Awards the Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity, Michael Matheson MSP, welcomed 450 industry professionals to Glasgow to celebrate the people and organisations that make a real difference to transport across Scotland.

Amey picked up two awards in the categories 'Transport Team/Partnership of the Year', which recognised the teams handling of the "Beast from the East" severe weather period back in 2018. This was a joint award win for Amey, its client Transport Scotland and partner operating companies BEAR and Transerv.

The Frontline Employee of the Year award went to one of Amey's TRISS operatives, Mark Burns, who over the past two years has received an unprecedented four awards from Amey's internal employee recognition scheme for his outstanding work.

At the Association of Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) Annual Awards, Amey Consulting and the Forth Bridges Unit were awarded the Data Led Asset Performance award for the data, technology and engineering expertise provided to Transport Scotland to ensure the crossing is maintained and operational.

These awards come on the back of the recognition Amey's highways and consulting teams received at the IHE Mercia Branch National Awards in the categories, Highway Partnership Award for the East Midlands Asset Delivery team and in the Small Project category for the Better Barton project.
