Fidel López Soria appointed CEO of Ferrovial Services
Fidel López Soria has been appointed CEO of Ferrovial Services, to replace Santiago Olivares, who has decided to leave the company to pursue new professional endeavors. They will work together over the next few months to ensure a smooth hand-over.
Fidel López Soria, who joined Ferrovial in 2007, has just successfully managed, as CEO of Broadspectrum, the integration of that Australian subsidiary into Ferrovial. Previously, he held a number of positions of responsibility at Ferrovial Airports, where he was Director of Airports at BAA, and Commercial Director of Heathrow. He was also formerly a member of the Board of Directors of Heathrow. López Soria commenced his career in Ferrovial Services as head of Development, in charge of such transactions as the divestment of Swissport. He is a graduate in mining engineering from the Technical University of Madrid and la École Nationale Superieure des Mines de París; he also has an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management. Before joining Ferrovial, he worked at management consultants McKinsey and energy group Enel.
Santiago Olivares has been CEO of Ferrovial Services since 2007, having led the division's growth and internationalization, including the acquisitions of Enterprise in the UK, Steel in Chile and Broadspectrum in Australia. He joined Ferrovial Services as Business Development Manager in 2002. He is a graduate in industrial engineering from ICAI and has an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
Ferrovial Services reported €7.069 billion in revenues in 2017, with €423 million in EBITDA and €396 million in cash flow; its backlog stood at €20.918 billion at year-end. It has 77,500 employees in Spain, the United Kingdom, Australia, the USA, Chile and Poland.
