KeolisAmey Docklands wins Corporate Social Responsibility award at the UK Rail Industry Awards

KeolisAmey Docklands (KAD) has won the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ award at the annual UK Rail Industry Awards (UKRIA).

This prestigious award was presented to KAD for their unique social inclusion programme Back on Track, assisting National Health Service (NHS) Mental Health service users onto travelling safely on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). This was presented to KAD during a ceremony held at Battersea Evolution in London, judges from across the industry praised the unique and innovative way that Back on Track project encouraged mental health service users to confidently and safely regain their freedom to travel and integrate with their community.

UK Rail Industry Awards is part of Rail Technology Magazine (RTM) and received entries from more than 130 organisations and over 1,000 rail industry professional in attendance, making the event the most successful edition yet. The evening was hosted by comedian Stephen Mangan and the key note speech was delivered by Sir Peter Hendy, chairman of Network Rail.

Robert Gough, Operational Security Manager (KAD), said: “It is a real honour to receive this award; it celebrates the hard work and dedication that our teams within KAD and the NHS have put into this innovative initiative. The project aims to support our people and our communities by removing the stigma of mental health and building their confidence, helping them to get ‘back on track’.”

Professor Jonathan Warren, Deputy CEO/Chief Nurse (NHS), said: “We are delighted to be part of this fantastic project. KAD have been a fantastic partner to help us ensure that our patients are supported to make a full recovery.”
