Amey maintains leading position in highways consultancy services in Scotland

Amey has re-secured a position on Transport Scotland’s Major Transport Infrastructure Projects (MTRIPs) framework, further reinforcing our position as a leading major highways designer.

As one of five consultants selected for the prestigious four-year framework we will provide highway design and supervision consultancy services, supporting Transport Scotland in delivering major road projects across the country.

Amey first secured a position on the MTRIPs framework in 2010, delivering multiple packages of design work including traffic flow and road safety improvements for the A737 in North Ayrshire as well as several major upgrades for the A77, not least a £5.5million upgrade between Parkend and Benanne.

Andy Milner, managing director of Amey’s Consulting and Strategic Infrastructure division said:

“Amey is a leading provider of highway design services in Scotland, with a long and proud history of delivering for Transport Scotland.  Re-securing our position on the MTRIPs framework, building on our successful delivery to-date, is testament to our solid reputation in the major consulting market.  We are delighted that we will continue to offer our engineering expertise and highways solutions for major infrastructure improvements across Scotland.”

Packages of work secured through the framework will be serviced by teams based at Amey’s two engineering consultancy hubs in Scotland at Eurocentral in North Lanarkshire and The Gyle, Edinburgh.  They provide support across the company’s wider highways consultancy portfolio, delivering on projects across the UK, the Middle East, Australia and the USA.

Amey has worked with the Transport Scotland - the country’s national transport agency – since 2001, managing and maintaining hundreds of miles of trunk road network as well as providing highways and structures design as well as other consultancy services like asset management, design, investigation, transportation planning, environmental management and construction management.

Currently Amey is working with Transport Scotland in delivering their Traffic Scotland Operations and Infrastructure Services contract to manage and improve all roadside technology assets and operate the prestigious Traffic Scotland National Control Centre in South Queensferry.  The company also looks after the maintenance of Transport Scotland’s Forth bridges and trunk routes in South East Scotland.  Amey is a key member of Scottish Roads Partnership, delivering project financing, engineering design and operational delivery services for the £500m upgrade of the central Scotland motorway network.
