Amey’s Chief Information Officer named in top 100

Darryl Salmons, Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Amey has been named as one the most progressive CIOs in the UK business economy, reaching 46th place in the CIO 100 list.

The list is compiled annually and recognises the UK’s top CIOs that are driving process improvement, using technology to enhance customer experience and driving efficiencies and economic performance.

Darryl Salmons said: “I am delighted and honoured to have been listed as one of the UK’s top CIOs. It is important that as a business we remain at the forefront of IT development, using technology to add value, transform and deliver best in class services for our customers.”

Darryl joined Amey, a leading public and regulated services provider in 2013 as CIO to head up the company’s technology and business improvement department. Darryl developed and implemented the IT strategy across the company through a period of significant growth, following the acquisition of Enterprise in April 2013 – which saw an additional 10,000 employees join the company.

Since 2013, Darryl and his team have been instrumental in the complex integration of the two companies IT systems, in addition to ensuring that efficiency savings, innovative solutions and service enhancements were delivered for customers across the country.

Before Amey, he was a partner in the CIO Advisory practice for Kurt Salmon a global management consultancy and spent five years prior to this as CIO for the Financial Services Authority (FSA), where he led a multi-year IT transformation programme.  Salmons spent his early career in systems development before undertaking IT strategy and business transformation for organisations across a range of sectors including: financial services, utilities, retail, logistics and the public sector.
