Amey announced as Finalists at AGR Award

The recognition is received for Amey’s excellence in ensuring that the company’s graduate scheme helps the organisation to achieve its strategic goals and is supported by excellent stakeholder engagement. The winner Accenture was announced at the AGR Development Conference on 14th March 2013 in London with the other shortlisted finalist being IBM.

Amey graduates work in technical and management roles across the business in areas including civil engineering, design and consulting and commercial operations.

Commenting on the company’s award win, Valerie Hughes-D’Aeth, Group HR Director at Amey said: “We’re delighted to be recognised as one of the UK’s leading employers of graduates. Amey recruits up to 100 graduates per year across two dedicated programmes. The Graduate Management Development Programme is a two year formal rotational programme that aims to maximise leadership and managerial potential. The Graduate Pathways Programme focuses on placing graduates in a specified role and supports them to gain professional accreditation.

The company pledges to have 1% of its workforce as graduate trainees and 2% of its workforce as apprentices. In 2012 that pledge was met with a total of 330 apprentices and graduates working across its business.

In 2012 Amey was awarded the Investors in People Gold standard across the whole of its business.
