Amey wins place on YORCivils framework
Leading public services provider Amey has been awarded a place on the £382 million, four-year YORCivils Contractors framework for South and West Yorkshire.
In total, nine local authorities across Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Wakefield, Kirklees, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield may procure work through the framework, which is led by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council.
The 10 categories of work within the framework are: civil engineering works below £1 million, civil engineering works of £1 million and above, bridges and structure works, surfacing works, traffic management works, road marking works, barrier repair works and street lighting.
Amey has become one of three approved contractors which can bid for work in the street lighting installation category, expected to be worth up to £2 million per year.
The company already has a strong presence in Yorkshire, where Amey currently maintains street lighting systems for a number of local authorities including Wakefield and York. Amey also specialise in delivering the following services throughout the region; waste management and recycling, rail track design and assessments, highways design and maintenance, ICT and facilities management.
The YORcivils Contractors Framework Agreement has been designed to provide local authorities across the Yorkshire and Humber region with access to high quality civil engineering and building contractors. The aim is for the public, private and charity sectors to work together collaboratively to speed up the tendering process, make efficiencies and ensure value for money. In addition, the YORcivils team will be encouraged to collaborate with other similar framework agreements including YORbuild, YORconsult and Efficient North
