Amey plc announces the purchase of Jarvis’ 80% share in Herefordshire Jarvis Services

Amey, one of the UK’s leading support services providers, announced the acquisition of Jarvis’ 80% share in Herefordshire Jarvis Services today.  The deal sees Amey deliver a wide range of services, including Highways maintenance, across the County with immediate effect.

Mel Ewell, Chief Executive of Amey, said: “This is a great acquisition for Amey and is a key part of our strategy to develop long term, end-to-end service partnerships in the Local Government market.  Working together with Herefordshire, Amey will improve the services delivered on the ground, whilst benefiting from additional capabilities in the market place and increasing its footprint in the local area.”

Owen Williams, Amey’s consultancy business stream is already a key partner to the Council, through their consultancy and design contract. Amey has been growing significantly in the Local Government market for several years during which time the benefits of a broad-based service, embracing design, management and maintenance provided from within a single organisation, have become clear.  Through this contract, and existing partnerships in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cumbria and North Lanarkshire, Amey is increasing its ability to offer the full range of support services to current and future Local Authority clients.

Mr. Ewell continued: “This partnership is an excellent strategic fit with our organisation, ensuring we continue to broaden the strength and capabilities of Amey as a key partner to Local Government, helping to deliver their core objectives. We look forward to working within the local community, improving infrastructure across the County and delivering a first class service to both residents and visitors.”
