Amey’s Business Services division awarded Investor in People Standard
Amey today announced its Business Services division has been awarded the Investor in People Standard for its best practice commitment to improving business performance through its employees.
Amey is committed to developing talent and skills within its workforce to deliver innovative services to its existing and prospective clients. Amey’s Business Services division currently has just over 2,500 employees delivering a range of facilities management services in the health, education, defence, private and local government sectors.
Amey works hard to bring its strap line statement – “Service is our passion, people our strength” – to life and the Investors in People Standard reflects some of Amey’s good work delivered through its training and development programmes. The Talent Tracker, which allows staff to nominate themselves for fast-track promotion, and the Impact programme which offers senior management development courses in business, people and personnel, are just two examples of Amey’s progress in this area.
Chris Fenton, Managing Director, said: “Amey places great value on its people and this award is a reflection of our employees’ hard work. People are our most important asset and we are committed to helping our employees further develop their skills as they progress with their careers. This reward is a great credit to all our employees and the continued effort they put into their work to deliver a real difference to our customers.”
Ruth Spellman, Chief executive of Investors in People UK, comments: "We are delighted that Amey Business Services has been awarded the Investors in People Standard. We believe that employees are central to the success of any organisation and it is vital for staff to be skilled, flexible and motivated. This can be achieved though properly planned training and sustained people development using the framework provided by the Investors in People Standard."
The Business Services division has recently won prestigious facilities management contracts with the National Physical Laboratory worth £27 million and a 25 year contract with the Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education.
Investors in People’s aim is to help employers across the UK to develop their businesses by making the most of their most valuable asset – their people. Amey’s other business areas are also currently going through the Investors in People process.
