Amey Love Shack Wins Cowes

Amey Love Shack this weekend beat the odds to win the 2007 Skandia Cowes Week. The Love Shack, a yacht consisting of Amey employees and guests, sailed to victory throughout the week becoming IRC class 4 and black group winners.

Skandia Cowes Week, the annual world-class yachting event sees about a thousand yachts and 8,500 competitors taking part in challenging first-class sailing. The event attracts a wide range of local, national and international entrants, from true amateurs to Olympic and World champions.

It is the third time Amey Love Shack has raced and the second time they have won their class. One Amey employee participating in the race commented, “It was a great race with stiff competition however, Amey Love Shack persevered and our great efforts paid off. It was an amazing experience. I saw first hand what real competition feels like. Everyone pulled together and really pushed themselves to the limit. ”
