The new organisation is structured to deliver services through five business streams:

  • Local Government
  • Operational Services

AIS is expected to have a  turnover of over £400 million in 2004 and already has an established, strong forward order book of over £1.5 billion.  The business will focus on strengthening its existing position and performance, developing specialist skills and services, deepening customer relationships and securing growth through long-term service opportunities.

Mel Ewell, Chief Executive of Amey, commented: "This is an extremely exciting time for Amey. The proven track record of our Rail, Fleet and Highways divisions provides Amey with an excellent platform from which to launch the new business.  AIS will not only allow us to focus and develop our capabilities for the benefit of our new and existing customers, but will also offer exciting development opportunities to our employees who will profit from the enhanced prospects that AIS offers.”
